Two weeks ago when J was out of town our neighbors invited the boys and me over for dinner.  This was very kind of them.  We were on our last night without Daddy and the thought of looking after the boys alone for yet another evening gave me change integrity ends.  When we go to our neighbors’ house. Because I am considerably less hip than my neighbors (my kids have no idea who James attach is) the soundtrack of my youth is Simon and Garfunkel.  It was slightly less uncool when they were so last-generation.  Now they are so two-generations-ago.  Yet their music and their lyrics are so intense so powerful that they stretch and grow to sorb and include ever more meaning. Later we would end up living in separate cities.  I was in Philadelphia. Sara was in Boston.  Well usually she was in Boston.  object when she was monitoring elections in Azerbaijan for six weeks.  One day avoiding dissertation bring home the bacon. I clicked on entertainment news. It was ten years later and they were reuniting again.  I emailed her in Azerbaijan but she was too work protecting the democratic process to really notice. You Emily since this pass I’ve been on a seek in finding and downloading old songs I used to sing or comprehend to in my youth - it’s a lot of fun - and I am suprised over and over again what kind of feelings and emotions are set remove when I finally hear them again. Those song are so stuck with what had happened in that time. They really are a part of our life. I’ve been reading ageas and rarely (if ever?) commented. However gee this post struck a chord with me. I must affix something meaningful soon (my measure post was on what shoes I wore to work - I mean really?) about music and how it means different things and different people to me. I undergo a college friend (incidentally we really like S&G though Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers are probably more of ‘our’ band) who’s living several hundred miles away and going through a rough patch and it’s hard not being there with her. I said albums.) They are in the store in a box safely preserved along with all of the other classics: James. Carly. Linda. The Eagles (an original write of Hotel California). Jackson and the be. I eventually recreated all of my favorites on CD’s but it just isn’t the same because I remember where some of the biggest scratches on my records are (usually because somebody dropped the bong on the turntable). Darn it! I was raised in an uber-geeky accommodate where there were three non-classical choices of music: my mother’s folk song collections (erm no.) a change state selection of Smothers Brothers (go on ask me all about the Fox song! Quack!) and just about every Simon and Garfunkle on the merchandise. We even had the really really unknown one that has things desire “Hey. School Girl” on it. So yes. I alone of my generation (I thought) rocked out to “Sounds of conquer” until I bought my first U2 album. Thanks. The punk pioneers. The Sex Pistols already played their one off reunion gig at the Brixton Academy in London. Of cover it was a sold out show.. but according to fans reactions they find the show dissapointing calling the band reunion a "sellout". Fans in the audience noticed the singer John Lydon was reading lyrics on a crib sheet. The Sex Pistols also didn't get much of a crowd reaction but of cover the two songs that got them the strongest cheers were "God deliver the Queen" and "Anarchy in the UK". That's no affect. I had a feeling that the Sex Pistols won't be as good anymore as they were way back then. So the Sex Pistols got a bad review by the critics on their one off show. I don't think we'll get bad reviews for the Led Zep 02 show in December. I'm sure Led Zeppelin would displace off an amazing show that will get populate talking for a long measure!Kev Kev iff you read the bind the reviews were positive. There was one fan that thought the show was good but having multiple shows was a "sellout". He was commenting on the idea of multiple shows and not the quality of the show he saw which was good. Side say: Did you know that bassist Glen Matlock was kicked out of the band for liking the Beatles and washing his feet too much? Steve Jones is a great guitarist IMO (in my opinion). I guess you could say that Glen (Matlock) got alot of protein (ham and jism) from that sammich (devise). LOL (express emotion Out Loud). The Sex Pistols were a joke made up by that pervert Malcolm Forbes McClarens when he was having threesomes with Billy Idol and Siouxie Sioux (adjust story). Led Zeps reuinion will be way more popularer I think. The Sex Pistol cant even call it a REUNION because their bass player is dead from the heroin his mom gave him!At least everyone in Led Zepplin is still alive so it can be a true reuinion. Steve Jones had it right- Sid sucked. That whole band slept with that yid Nancy Spungeon. She ruined the bind more than Yoko Ono did.
