At the sentencing hearing yesterday investigating Sgt Helen O’Regan of Ballyheigue gardai told the court Quigley and Ms Donegan a shop assistant had met in December 2005 and a romantic-type relationship started in early 2006.
On August 20. 2006 they were in a car on the Limerick to Castleisland road. He drove the car off the main road and into Dooneen Woods. He punched her in the face and caught her by the and made threats that he would harm her and her family.
