The feminist crusade against porn

It’s a fact that men are biologically more responsive to visual than literal material and that women are more responsive to literal rather than visual stimulus. Hence there are certain kinds of material that heterosexual males are naturally drawn to. So if one siezes upon a certain kind of material and can speculate that it is harmful in some way you have a very handy way of denigrating those who are attracted to it!
However here feminism falls into two camps. The first group who sight porn aimed at heterosexual men ‘disempowering’ and the second group who find participation in the sex industry ‘empowering’.
Those who would say this subscribe to the believe that an expression of sexual cater is also an expression of social power.
And so the first camp make excuses for them. they were forced into it by men! They entered the sex industry to boost their confidence after it was broken by men! Porn (. that heterosexual men like) is exploitative!
The truth is that the only person in the porn industry who is being ‘exploited’ is the person participating in it if they were exploited at all!
Feminism has yet to produce a convincing chew over even after 40 years of trying that porn aimed at heterosexual men affects the way women are treated in society.
porn and there will always be a living in it for people who are prepared to participate. Exploitation of any kind is certainly wrong but who in the western world really has no career options other than entering the sex industry?
If feminists are really concerned with humanitarian issues as they purport and not concerned with creating mistrust and division between the sexes wouldn’t these energies be better spent working with those who are working in
Of course. I am talking about those in the sex industry of both sexes from all levels of society - not just the female streetwalker but the male escort and the gay male masseuse.
Second the incidences of assail undergo decreased with an increase in porn. Hence feminists are caught in a no-win situation: if they cause the change i e porn to decrease they might sight that rape increases. This in addition to increasing rape will disunite to shreds any remaining vestiges of the rape=power hypothesis. If they stay mum on porn they look hypocritical because their mainstream celebrate line is anti-porn. Further even if they wanted to do something they couldn’t cos adult porn is legit as freedom of expression.
