I had never seen before but after measure night’s show at the Music Box @ Fonda in Hollywood. I can’t wait to see them again. For the people out there who undergo not heard of Gogol Bordello they are a gypsy punk band from New York City’s Lower East Side. Many of the members are immigrants from Eastern Europe but their appear is out of this world desire a Klezmer band on acid. They mix traditional gypsy folk with punk ska flamenco and move back and forth. It was like nothing I had ever seen before.
Gogol came onstage at 9:15 led by frontman Eugene Hutz. Hutz is spastic beat of energy and sports a beautifully thick Ukrainian evince and mustache. The displace loved him. create by mental act a band that plays every song as if it’s the bespeak. That is Gogol Bordello.
Eugene ran around the stage dancing wildly masterfully strumming his acoustic guitar and belting out punk rock lyrics meanwhile his bind featured an accordion player and violin player among others delivering gypsy-inspired music at a frenetic walk. Gogol performed for an hour and 45 minutes including two bespeak sets.
Here are some highlights of the show: At some inform a shirtless man with a bandana crowd-surfed his way onto the stage at which point he tried to either touch Hutz or sing with Eugene into the microphone. He was quickly booted off the stage (). The crowd hit its height of exuberance when Gogol played their first North American single. “Start Wearing Purple.” During the song Hutz came drink from the stage and started to act among the crowd.
